Went to see mom and dad last weekend. It was a nice visit. Always goes by too fast. They are both doing OK. Mom was not well on Friday night - she always seems to overdo it and then pay for it later. A person forgets when they are feeling ok and then tend to push it past the limit I guess. Wes said that Mom and Dad were able to go to have a short visit with them this past week. That is nice. That means they were able to see all of the remodeling that Wes and Jan have been doing. Bet the place looks great.

We went and watched Lucas "graduate" from his pre-school yesterday morning. What fun that was. The kids all looked so cute. I will try to post some pictures as soon as I have a chance. They had graduation caps in such bright colors. Yellow, red, purple, blue.... they had to keep the caps at the school but got to take the tassels home with them, along with their "diploma" and a lovely picture frame with a picture of each of the kids with the teachers. What a special time for them and what fun for all of us that were able to watch. Songs were sung, the Pledge of Allegiance was done, lots of great songs and sharing what they learned over the past year.

Tara, Devin, Lucas and I went rummage saling this morning. Didn't find too much - harder now that the boys are a little older and wear bigger sizes. We did find a Nintendo gameboy for a great price and picked up some games and the recharger that was needed at Rock 30 Games. No other good buys even though we did hit several more rummage sales. Went to dinner at Paradisos next. Then home after a nice morning/early afternoon with them. Tara called after they got home and said the gameboy was working great and Lucas was so excited. Devin has a Nintendo DS and Lucas has the gameboy now. Makes him feel like a "big boy" like his big brother I think.

Next week is my "long week" at work. YUCK!!! That means that I will be at work until close on Friday (well - actually I get to leave at 4 - but - still a long day as I can leave between 11 and 12 the other 2 weeks). I will also be doing my work PLUS the registrations and the medical assistance T19 "stuff" for the other 2 staff. Would be nice if I would have "cover" on the days I get to leave early - but - no one else does my job, nor knows how to do it, so that makes it pretty hard for them to "cover" for me when I am gone. I had Friday off - so it will take me at least 2 or 3 days to catch up from taking that day off. That is the bad part about taking a day off. I am not planning on taking any time off again for a while. That should give me a chance to catch up, right???

Well - - - - guess that is good for now. Gong to watch "Groomer Has It" on Animal Planet tonight. enjoyed it last season and was happy with the winner then.

Visiting Mom and Dad in Devils Lake. Always enjoy coming up here - but- hate the ride. My back has a hard time with being in the car that long without moving around. AND today we left right after I was at the chiropractor - so - that made it double hard. At least I had my ice pack with me and that helped.
Charlie is having a fun time playing with Kitter. I think she is having fun too - they follow each other around the house and they even ate together tonight.
Thinking it will be nice to be here for Mother's Day. We will leave early afternoon on Sunday to head back home. Will have to remember to have my ice pack filled with ice for the home trip.
We got the house re-shingled last weekend. It looks so nice - will have to try to get a picture or two taken and put on so that everyone can see it.
Going to relax and read for a little while tonight and just "veg" - it has been a while since I have done that.
Hope everyone is great and would love to hear from you all.

May 3, 2009

Well - Hard to believe that 34 years ago I was just getting myself ready for my wedding. My - time really has a way of flying by doesn't it?

So much has happened over the past years. Births, deaths, baptisms, graduations, weddings. The family keeps growing as does my love for every member.

Milestones this year - was just thinking yesterday that my baby sister, Melodie is going to be reaching a real milestone this year. So is LeRoy. MY - hard to believe for both of them.

So much to be thankful for - a roof over my head (which is REALLY LOUD right now as the roofers are here working on taking the old shingles, etc off and will then be putting new ones on. I hope we mad the right decision on the color that we chose to have put on today. We will see I guess.

Thankful for my amazing family - wow how lucky am I to have the family that I have? Such support and friendship. I am blessed.

Sounds like Jenna and Rob are busy as usual with their home, family and business. Want to check them out? Go to http://www.grumannps.com/. You will be able to see pictures of the family, of the horses, of their place. Lots of info about their business too.

Tara, Bob and boys are busy as usual. Can't believe the school year is almost over for Devin. He is getting so big. Won't be long and he will be as tall as I am. He turned 8 in April. Lucas will be starting kindergarten in the fall. That will be an adjustment for everyone. He has been going to preschool 3 mornings a week this year and loves it. Imagine - both of the boys in school all day next year. WOW. Wonder what "grandpa daycare" will do with his time then!!

I was moved in to a different location at work a couple of months ago - I haven't been to happy about it, trying to make "do" and to make things work. I have so little space to do my work, and absolutely no privacy at all. I am not so concerned about my lack of privacy for myself - but - with the work I do, there are confidentiality issues for our clients and I really feel that there is a big problem with that. I have addressed my concerns to my supervisor and to the fiscal director at the center and that is where I have to let it go I guess. I keep telling myself that if I go to work with a positive attitude and be kind, friendly, smiling, etc it will make things better and eventually I will be OK with the change. So far that hasn't happened. SOO - what to do? I am looking at other employment options. So far nothing has come my way - but - I will continue to search I guess.

I have also been doctoring for a hip and back problem that has returned. (actually the hip problem is new - the back problem has been around for over 25 years). I am actually doing better than I have been in a while - however, it still has a ways to go I guess. I ordered custom made orthotics for my shoes that seems to be helping with the hip issue. I am thinking it took a LONG time for it to get as bad as it is - will probably take a long time to get better, right?

I am not sure of our plans for today. Lee is golfing right now (I am listening to the roofers). I am thinking we will do some exciting things like go to the grocery store, to Sam's Club, and probably to PetSmart (maybe venture to the Dollar Tree too - love that store!!!). I think we will go out to eat this evening. Not sure where yet - but - maybe the Olive Garden or Carino's would be nice. Will have to see.

Well, enough of my ramblings for one day. Would love to hear from everyone.

Trying something new!!

I am going to try my hand at making and updating my own blog. Not sure what I am doing - but decided I won't figure this thing out until I try it!
